Ana Mantilla, PhD
Early Childhood Education
Ana Mantilla completed doctoral studies in early childhood education at Monash University in 2011 and is currently a research associate for the Early Childhood Futures Research Program at the Learning Sciences Institute Australia, Australian Catholic University. She has more than 10 years experience working with academics across different universities and children, families and educators at primary schools, kindergartens and childcare settings. Her core areas of research expertise are second language learning/teaching and classroom practices. The projects she is currently involved in are innovative studies on young children’s digital play and cyber-wellbeing, and pedagogical approaches to engage children in healthy eating, active lifestyles and sustainability education. She also has a personal interest in introversion, quietness and young children’s emotional health.
